As you all can easily guess, I have come to make my own conclusions about the state of being that I have to live with. I have friends that are vampires and I have also been talking to other vampires that have been searching for answers, like me.

When I made up the retroviral theory, I was still very fond of the possibility that science might be able to explain one of the last things that simply cannot be proven still in these modern times. I thought I found the key to a door long closed.

I was wrong.

I found out that magic plays a great role in my life. This was quite a while after I finished my essays on genetic vampirism and retroviral concepts. I found out that my scientific attempt to explain vampirism lacked a few answers to logical question everyone has the right to ask, such as:

Why don´t I know who made me?
Why is there no cure?
Why has no virus such as the one you talk about ever been found?
Why don´t I fit into any of your categories?

I don't think that science gives all the answers that we want. The world is not made like that. I have given up on science long ago, at least in terms of certain issues. I have been a magician for many years, so I deal with magic, acknowledging its existence. I think that metaphysic could possibly offer us the answers, if we only dare to look.

I believe, that vampirism is a magical and spiritual thing. The nature of the vampire is that of a predator, his instincts are that of a beast hunting prey, but he is far from being a sole beast. He is the unity of man and beast in the same body. The vampire is neither man nor beast alone. I think all physical needs are either biologically, spiritually or psychically induced, in many cases several of those are the cause. It is not always easy to separate them, but also, it is not a necessity.

I do not say that my view is unique. Everyone is supposed to believe what he thinks is right. That is the reason why I put up all the other theories and why I made the link list. There are other views than mine. And there are similar ones.

I believe that sometimes, people develop physical traits that equal what is said about vampires, either as a psychosomatic illness (like folkloric vampires) or as an expression of their internal conflict between beast and man (like spiritual vampires). I myself suffer from an allergic reaction to sunlight and possess a couple of other strange traits. Yet no doctor actually attested me a mutated DNA structure. I think the spirit uses the body to express itself.

With my viral concept I have failed to explain a few things. But I think that it is still a good way to explain vampirism that strictly believe in science and nothing else. It shows that there is at least a scientific possibility to examine vampirism.
Same goes for the psychological explanation. This explanation fits mostly for the wannabes and fake gothic vampires, but it leaves the possibility that we might all just be maniacs. And to be honest, did not everyone of us think this at least once in his life? I did, my sister did and most others I know did as well. The others I did not ask yet.

Everyone of you will find his own view. He will either chose one of the options given, make a theory on his own, experience this thing in his own way or he will simply disbelieve, and if so, this is not of my business. All I can say is that I know what I am and I know what I believe. May this come to any of you, in which way ever.
