This privacy policy applies ONLY to things on SphynxCat's Real Vampires Support Page.
I have to say this because many of my links lead to other people's sites,
and I have no control over their content or privacy policies.

E-MAILING ME THROUGH THE FEEDBACK FORM

The feedback form is a third-party tool through Bravenet - please also see the Bravenet privacy policy link below.

I tend to save e-mails (but not always), especially the complimentary ones, however nothing is sold or traded to any third party. If you want me to delete your feedback after I've read/responded to it, all you have to do is tell me in the body of the message and I will be happy to do so.

If your feedback includes a question about something I cannot answer, I may forward your e-mail to the one or two people I think might have the answers that I don't. I'll be honest, in the time I've had the site up (since 1999), I've done that exactly once, and only because the person seemed to need the info ASAP. My normal response is to point people sending me feedback to the respective person or website I feel could help them.

I will answer your question to the best of my ability, but I do not guarantee I'll be able to solve your particular problem(s). For legal reasons, all answers are "for entertainment purposes only."

I reserve the right to publish frequently asked questions in one or more collected lists with no names (and likewise no personally identifying information) attached. I further reserve the right to choose whether the question is appropriate, deserving of an answer, and the right to edit or modify it for editorial clarity and grammatical correctness, if published.

TELL-A-FRIEND SCRIPT

This feature has been removed due to spammers taking advantage of it.

VIEWING THIS SITE

I, personally, collect NO personally identifying information from anyone simply viewing this site, regardless of browser, nor do I solicit information from anyone simply viewing this site. The Hitbox and Bravenet counters collect information (see their sections below) but I do not believe it is personally identifying, judging by what I've seen on the stats.

I encourage parents to take an active role in protecting the privacy and security of their children, and to prevent the inappropriate use of information about their children. I recognize that censoring software is in common use, however I, as always, consider it a poor substitute for what should be appropriate parental supervision of internet use and involvement in their child's life.

SPAM

I do not send out unsolicited commercial e-mails, or "spam". I have an opt-in list, located at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/sphynxcat_news, which I use to keep subscribers updated to major changes. Opt-out instructions are on the list's main page, as well as each e-mail that gets sent out. I may occasionally invite people to join the list, but I do not automatically subscribe them.

THE FOLLOWING THIRD-PARTY SERVICES ARE ALSO IN USE

  • Bravenet: Feedback form & visible counter on index page
    • Bravenet privacy policy is here: http://www.bravenet.com/global/privacy.php
    • Special item of note: The posting IP address is captured from your browser when using the feedback form. If you're paranoid, feel free to use a browser proxy. I won't be offended. :)
  • Google: Language Translation Tool & Search Feature
    • Google's privacy policy is here: http://www.google.com/privacy.html
    • No special items of note - their privacy policy is pretty easy to understand, and not terribly long.
  • Hitbox: The site analytics tool.
    • Hitbox privacy policy is here: http://www.websidestory.com/privacy/
    • Special item of note: Hitbox uses cookies, but does not collect IP addresses.
    • General information: I check these stats practically every day and have seen nothing that could be considered personally identifying in anything shown to me. In fact, if you have a website of your own, I highly recommend Hitbox for your site analytics needs.
  • Ringsurf.com (A "web ring" service)
  • Webring.com (The original, and no longer part of Yahoo)
